Celebrating Excellence: Broward County Black Chamber of Commerce Honored During Black History Month
City of Sunrise Deputy Mayor, Latoya Clarke, recognizes Chamber
During this year’s Black History Month, the Broward County Black Chamber of Commerce was proudly recognized for its longstanding commitment to empowering businesses and strengthening the economic fabric of our community.
For years, the Chamber has been a driving force in supporting approximately 12,000 business owners and professionals across the metropolitan region over the last eight years. Through impactful training programs, strategic advocacy, and a steadfast dedication to economic inclusion, the organization has helped cultivate growth, opportunity, and resilience among minority-owned businesses.
This recognition serves as a testament to the Chamber’s unwavering mission and the meaningful impact of its work over time.
Accepting the proclamation on behalf of the organization was the Chamber President, SHaheewa Jarrett Gelin, Esq., whose leadership continues to guide the Chamber’s vision and expansion. Her presence at the ceremony reflected the collective efforts of the board, members, and partners who have contributed to the Chamber’s success.
We also extend our sincere gratitude to Deputy Mayor Latoya Clarke, whose instrumental role made this recognition possible. Her support highlights the importance of collaboration between public leadership and community institutions in advancing economic empowerment.
As we reflect on this honor, we remain committed to building on this legacy—continuing to uplift, advocate for, and equip Black businesses and professionals throughout Broward County and beyond.
